UI researchers seeking men and women for cholesterol study

Men and women, ages 21-65, who have elevated cholesterol are invited to take part in a study being conducted at the University of Iowa College of Public Health.

The study will measure the effectiveness of a new investigational medication on lowering triglyceride levels, compared with TRICOR, an approved medication for lowering cholesterol. Participants will be asked to make nine visits to the UI Lipid Research Clinic over the course of 18 weeks, with most visits one to three weeks apart. Qualified participants will receive a physical exam, ECG, blood work evaluation, nutrition counseling and study medication. Compensation will be provided.

For more information, call the UI Lipid Research Clinic at (319) 384-5048 or toll free at (800) 887-6917.
