The Bush administration's scrutiny over changing Title IX will be addressed
on an upcoming edition of WSUI's listener call-in program Iowa Talks.
The program will air 10 a.m. Wednesday, Dec 18 on the University of Iowa's
public radio station, WSUI AM 910. Dr. Christine Grant, former women's athletics
director at the University of Iowa, and an authority on Title IX and gender
equity, will join the discussion with Nancy Hogshead-Makar, Olympic triple
gold medalist and Florida Coastal college of law professor, and Dr. Bonnie
Slatton of the UI department of health and sport studies.
They will talk with WSUI's Julie Englander about what is at stake and the
ramifications to changing or weakening Title IX, the law that forbids gender
discrimination at institutions receiving federal funds.
Listeners can call in with questions at 466-9100 in Johnson County, or 1-866-780-9100
