KOHL'S DONATION TO BENEFIT CLASSROOM FOR
OF CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL OF IOWA
Officials from Kohl's Department Stores will present a $92,000 gift to the
Children's Hospital of Iowa at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 5 in the pediatric
inpatient unit on the third level of the John Colloton Pavilion in University
of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Representatives from Kohl's will present the gift to Donna Katen-Bahensky,
director and chief executive officer of UI Hospitals and Clinics. The gift
is a contribution to the Children's Hospital of Iowa from the Kohl's Cares
for Kids program. The funds will be used to support the Healthy Steps for
Young Children child development program, Reach Out and Read literacy program
and Starbright World interactive patient computer network programs.
Patients of the Children's Hospital of Iowa and a teacher who works in the
hospital will also attend the event to demonstrate the benefits of Kohl's
generosity. The participants will also be available for individual interviews.
To access the location of this event, take Elevator F to the third level
of the John Colloton Pavilion and turn left (west) and enter the pediatric
