The University of Iowa Graduate College knows that freshmen won't be the only ones lost and bewildered when the fall semester begins Monday, Aug. 26. More than 1,000 new graduate students are also arriving on campus this fall. To help orient them to campus and the town, the Graduate College is hosting a series of events including an information fair, orientation workshops, and a picnic Wednesday, Aug. 21 through Saturday, Aug. 24.

At 4 p.m. in the IMU Main Lounge, John C. Keller, dean of the Graduate College, will offer brief remarks welcoming the students and outlining the college's goals and services. The afternoon concludes with a reception starting at 4:30 p.m. in the Main Lounge

On Thursday and Friday, Aug. 22-23 students can attend a series of informational workshops on topics related to academic services, student services and teaching resources among others.
