UI Staff Development offers seminar series for managers, supervisors
The University of Iowa Office of Staff Development is offering a monthly
seminar series this fall covering workplace issues such as phone skills and
security, employee performance reviews, and reducing stress at work. One seminar
will include a creativity camp for managers and supervisors. The series is
open to the general public.
"We're offering ways for managers and employees to simplify their workday
using proven strategies and techniques, while gaining a fresh outlook on effectiveness,"
says Maureen McCormick, UI director of staff development.
The all-day seminars are under way in August and continue with the highly
anticipated Creativity Camp for Managers and Supervisors (Sept. 4-5), and
Phone Skills and Security Essentials for Front Line Staff (Oct. 30). The series
concludes with How to Dejunk & Destress Your Life (Nov. 13) and How to
Give Employee Performance Reviews (Dec.16). More information can be found
online at www.uiowa.edu/~fusstfdv/
in the "Special Events" section.
Ten percent discounts are offered to those registering for three or more
sessions. Participants can select any one-day seminar for $99; the two-day
creativity camp is $199. The registration deadline for each session is 10
days before the seminar date; call (319) 335-2687 for registration and information.
