BOARD OF REGENTS, STATE OF IOWA
President Owen J. Newlin, Board of Regents, State of Iowa, announced today the appointment of an additional undergraduate student, Dan Rossi, to the University of Iowa Presidential Search and Screen Advisory Committee. Dan Rossi is an undergraduate Political Science major with an emphasis in Law, Politics, and International Relations and a minor in Business. He is a former member of the University of Iowa Student Government and has been active in a number of student and volunteer organizations. Rossi will become the twenty-sixth member of the University of Iowa Presidential Search and Screen Advisory Committee.
In July the Board of Regents approved a twenty-five-member Committee. At that time concerns were expressed about the number of undergraduate students on the Committee. This appointment will bring the number of undergraduate students on the Committee to two. There are also two graduate students on the Committee.
The University of Iowa Presidential Search Committee was appointed to assist the Board of Regents with the search for a successor to Mary Sue Coleman who begins her Presidency at the University of Michigan today. It is anticipated that the Board of Regents will select the next President in December 2002 or January 2003.
