WiderNet is a nonprofit project based at the University of Iowa that aims
to build bridges between the UI and universities in developing countries by
assisting faculty and students with access to computers, email and the Internet.
Thanks to the generosity of many people in Eastern Iowa, 300 computers have
been collected to send. Volunteers will be packing and loading equipment into
a 40-foot cargo container for a shipment that will leave Iowa City on April
29 and go to the universities of Jos and Ibadan in Nigeria, West Africa.
