Advisory issued for fans attending Coca-Cola Classic Iowa football spring game

Fans of Coach Kirk Ferentz's Iowa football team planning to attend this year's Coca-Cola Classic spring game Saturday, April 20 should note the following regarding game day policies for Kinnick Stadium:

--Admission to the 2002 Coca-Cola Classic Iowa football spring game is free. Fans are encouraged to bring a canned food item for donation to the Iowa City Crisis Center. The canned food drive is the Iowa football team's contribution to the UI athletic department's annual "Day of Caring," which is coordinated by Iowa's Student-Athlete Advisory Council (ISAAC).

Receptacles will be available at all gates for canned food items being donated to charity. Canned food items may also be deposited at a storage truck located in the parking lot immediately west of Kinnick Stadium.

--The following gates will open at 11:30 a.m.: Gate 15 and the gates immediately below the press box on the west side of Kinnick; Gates 10, 12 and 14 on the east side of Kinnick. Spectators will not be allowed to enter Kinnick Stadium after the start of the third quarter.

--Specific entrances at each gate location will be used for bag checks. The following items are not allowed inside Kinnick Stadium: backpacks, bottles, cans, thermoses, coolers, botas, large lens cameras, strollers, tripods and personal chairbacks. Fans not carrying items that require checking will be provided with alternative gates to use for entry.

--There will be no access to Kinnick Stadium or restrooms located inside Kinnick Stadium until gates open at 11:30 a.m. The UI Recreation Building and restrooms located inside the UI Recreation building will be open.

--Graduated seniors of the 2001 Iowa football team that defeated Texas Tech in the 2001 SYLVANIA Alamo Bowl will sign autographs from 11 a.m. to noon in the parking lot immediately west of Kinnick Stadium. The trophy awarded to the 2001 Iowa football team as champions of the 2001 SYLVANIA Alamo Bowl will be on display from 11 a.m. to noon in the parking lot immediately west of Kinnick Stadium.
