Iowa Voyagers hosts program Nov. 1 on Scandinavia, U.S. tours
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Alumni Association's Iowa Voyagers
travel program is hosting an information meeting Nov. 1 to showcase its "Best
of Scandinavia" tour next May 9-18, 2002, and to present its "Travel
the U.S.A." offerings for 2002.
The program and film presentation begins at 7 p.m., preceded by a 6:30 p.m.
reception at the Levitt Center for University Advancement, One West Park Road
in Iowa City. The meeting is free and open to the public.
The program will highlight the 10-day tour to Scandinavia, which begins in
Copenhagen and continues by ship to Oslo, and concludes in Stockholm. Travelers
will not only visit museums, shops and major attractions in these cities,
but also will see Norway's fjords and take a mountain railway to the picturesque
Norwegian village of Geilo.
Cost of the trip begins at $2,249, departing from several major Midwestern
The information program will also highlight "Travel USA" destinations
in 2002 offered by the Iowa Voyagers, including a tour of the Antebellum South
March 16- 23, a Great Lakes Cruise July 6-13, Alaska cruises May 25- June
1 or Aug. 1- 11, and an expedition following the path of Lewis and Clark May
20-26 and Oct. 12-18.
Iowa Voyagers director Diane Baker said additional destinations in the U.S.
and surrounding countries were added to the Voyagers program because of increased
interest in domestic travel.
