Oct. 2-3 fundraiser at UI Hospitals and Clinics to aid victims' families
of Sept. 11 attacks
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A special fundraising effort to benefit the families
of victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, D.C.,
will be Oct. 2-3 at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
The American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME),
Service Employees International Union (SEIU) Local 199, the UI Staff Council
and University of Iowa Health Care will jointly sponsor the fundraiser. Organizers
will send all proceeds to the AFSCME Sept. 11 Relief Fund, the SEIU Sept.
11 Relief Fund and the Johnson County United Way/Red Cross Disaster Relief
Volunteers will accept donations from 6:30 to 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.,
2:30 to 5:00 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday in the Main Lobby
