Public input to new Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids sought
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Legal Clinic at the University of Iowa College of
Law and the Johnson County Coalition for Persons with Disabilities tonight
(Monday, Nov. 19) are sponsoring a public meeting to unveil the blueprints
and ballpark policies for the new Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
The meeting is from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Johnson County Senior Center,
328 S. Linn Street, Iowa City. Attendees should use the Washington Street
Attendees will be able to review the blueprints, ask questions, make suggestions
to stadium designer Heinlein Schrock, and meet with personnel from the Cedar
Rapids Kernels minor league baseball team.
As a public use facility, the stadium must comply with the Americans with
Disabilities Act, which requires that such public use spaces be accessible
persons with disabilities.
