UI Health Care releases revised, user-friendly version of its Web site

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa Health Care recently released a revised version of www.uihealthcare.com, featuring more color, more photos and much simpler navigation than the previous UI Health Care site.

The revised site allows users to schedule appointments, find information on a wide variety of health topics, explore job opportunities, read up on our latest medical research and much more. It is designed to be more user-friendly than before, with the specific needs of various users -- including the referring medical community, patients, visitors and potential staff -- in mind.

UI Health Care describes the partnership of the UI Hospitals and Clinics and the UI College of Medicine. Together they provide world-class patient care, health care education and biomedical research, combining the expertise of board-certified specialists and the most sophisticated medical technologies available.

"With these new Web improvements, this site is strong enough and current enough to represent the excellence of UI Health Care," said Greg Johnson, project manager for the UI Health Care Web site.

The new site serves as a "virtual front door" to information about programs, services and opportunities within UI Health Care. It complements a sister site, the Virtual Hospital, an internationally recognized Web library of health information for patients and health care professionals that was first launched in 1992.

For more information about the Virtual Hospital or uihealthcare.com, contact Johnson at (319) 356-7698 or by e-mail at gregory-johnson@uiowa.edu.
