Wilken wins alumni scholarship
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Jason Wilken, a second-year student in the University
of Iowa Physical Therapy Graduate Program and Coralville native, received
the alumni scholarship for a second-year student and was also the Physical
Therapy Graduate Program nominee for an APTA Mary McMillan Scholarship.
Wilken is a graduate of Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, where he earned
a degree in biology. His interests in clinical practice are in pediatrics
and outpatient orthopedics.
While in school, Wilken worked in Dr. John Yack's biomechanics lab. He has
a strong interest in research and is in the process of applying to the Ph.D.
program. His current research interest is the biomechanics of the sit-to-stand
activity in relation to prosthetic placement in patients with total hip arthroplasty.
