UI hosts Occupational Health Symposium March 29-30

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa will host a symposium on issues related to occupational health March 29-30 at the Iowa Memorial Union in Iowa City.

The third annual "Occupational Health Symposium: Caring for Workers in the Heartland" will provide information regarding health and safety regulations, workplace illnesses and injuries, health-care delivery and management issues. The event is intended for occupational medicine physicians, occupational health nurses, industrial hygienists, health safety professionals, administrators and human resource professionals.

In addition to the two-day symposium, two pre-symposium courses will be offered March 26-28. Participants will receive continuing education credits for enrollment in a pre-symposium course. "Comprehensive Review Course for Occupational Health Nurses" is designed for experienced nurses preparing for the certified occupational health nurse or certified occupational health nurse-specialist examinations. A second course, "Indoor Air Quality: Microbiological Aspects," will offer an overview of bioaerosols found indoors.

Pre-registration is required for both the symposium and the pre-symposium courses.
