International Mondays series presents lecture on politics in Iran March 19

The International Mondays spring lecture series continues March 19 with Sherry Gray and David Blaney speaking on "A Glimpse of Iran: Politics in Tehran leading up to the elections." The presentation begins at noon in the International Center Lounge. The series is open to the public and includes a free lunch.

Gray is a program officer in the International Programs department of the Stanley Foundation, based in Muscatine, Iowa. Blaney is an associate professor of political science at Macalester College. Blaney and Gray visited Iran in June 2000 and January 2001 to meet with members of Iran's political science, human rights, and foreign policy academic, government, and non-government communities. They will draw on their experiences to comment on current thinking in Tehran on contemporary domestic and foreign policy issues.

International Mondays is sponsored by UI International Programs. For more information, call Fairouz Abu-Ghazaleh at (319) 335-1442.
