Bernard Sorofman to assume associate dean position
IOWA CITY, Iowa Bernard Sorofman, Ph.D., associate professor of clinical
and administrative pharmacy at the University of Iowa College of Pharmacy,
will be named associate dean for Academic Affairs effective July 1, 2001.
He will replace Lloyd Matheson, Ph.D., who held the position for more than
A UI faculty member since 1984, Sorofman has been university ombudsperson
since July 1999. He also served as head of pharmaceutical socioeconomics at
the UI from 1990-93. Recently, Sorofman was one of 16 faculty member recipients
of the 2000-01 Collegiate Teaching Award.
Sorofman earned a B.S. degree in pharmacy at the University of Oklahoma in
1979 and a Ph.D. degree in social and administrative pharmacy from the University
of Minnesota in 1984.
