Interviews continue with senior associate athletic director candidates

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- On-campus interviews with candidates for University of Iowa senior associate director of athletics/senior women’s administrator will continue on Friday, Jan. 12. Finalist Paula Jantz, associate athletic director, University of Iowa, will be interviewed that day and will make a public presentation at 11 a.m. in the Big Ten Room of Carver Hawkeye Arena.

Jantz has been associate women’s athletic director at the UI since 1994. She was assistant director of women’s athletics from 1988 to 1994. She is a member of the National Association of Collegiate Women Athletic Administrators and is currently a member of the Big Ten Conference Sports Management Committee, Liaison to Big Ten Conference Coaching Groups in rowing, and in the past has served as liaison to field hockey and softball. Jantz holds a master’s degree in athletic administration from the University of Iowa. She earned bachelor’s degrees in social science and physical education at Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, where she was assistant softball coach in 1977 and head softball coach in 1978.

Two other candidates have already been interviewed for the position. Calli Sanders, senior associate athletic director at Montana State University, was interviewed Jan. 3, and Betsy J. Mosher, senior associate athletic director at Arizona State University, was interviewed Jan. 11. Jane Meyer, director of educational outreach for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA), Indianapolis, will be interviewed Jan. 16.

The senior associate director of athletics/senior women’s administrator will report to UI Director of Athletics Robert Bowlsby and serve as chief of staff, providing leadership to the UI’s men’s and women’s athletic teams.
