Law disability research center nets $300,000 contract
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Employment and Training Administration in the U.S.
Department of Labor has awarded the Law, Health Policy & Disability Center
(LHPDC) at the University of Iowa College of Law a one-year, $300,000 contract
to help develop information, training, and technical activities which benefit
youth and working age adults with disabilities.
UI Law Professor Peter Blanck is director of the LHPDC. Over the next year,
the center will assist the Department of Labor, regional disability coordinators,
and the 23 Work Incentive grantees on devising services that lead to effective
and meaningful participation by youth and working adults in the comprehensive
workforce development system and with implementation of the new One-Stop career
and job development centers.
The Law, Health Policy and Disability Center is a partner of the Rehabilitation
Research and Training Center on Workforce Investment and Employment Policy
