Following Adams' speech, students will be ceremonially cloaked with their first white laboratory coats. Then, in the presence of family, friends and faculty, they will recite the Oath of Hippocrates. A reception will follow in the Hancher lobby.

At the UI College of Pharmacy White Coat Ceremony, Marilyn and Matt Osterhaus, both alumni of the college, will offer welcoming remarks to the students. Jordan Cohen, Ph.D., dean of the college, will also give a short speech. Bernard Sorofman, Ph.D., associate dean of the college, will serve as master of ceremonies. A reception will follow the event.
