RiverRun races, Art Fair to be this weekend
IOWA CITY-- The University of Iowa's 22nd annual RiverRun race will be Sunday,
April 29, beginning with a Fun Run at 8:30 a.m., followed by 5K and 10K races
at 9 a.m. All races start on the corner of Iowa Avenue and Madison Street
in Iowa City. A Children's 50-yard Hawkeye Hustle starts at 10:30 a.m. in
The race and the April 28-29 Art Fair, which features pottery, ceramics,
handcrafted works, and other collectibles for sale, are being held in conjunction
with RiverFest, a free, public event that kicks off Thursday afternoon with
live music and other activities slated to take place in Hubbard Park.
The Art Fair exhibition area takes place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both
days, and will be situated between the UI's music building and an area south
of Hancher Auditorium. The fair includes children's art activities, which
will occur between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Parking near Hancher
Auditorium is free, and concessions from the Rib Shack and Banks Kettlecorn
will be available.
RiverRun entry forms can be obtained at the University Box Office in the
IMU at www.uiowa.edu/~riverrun
and on race day from 6:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. in the Terrace Lobby of the IMU.
Entry fees range from $17 to $23 for UI and non-UI students and $75 for team
