UI Health Care Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program certified
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Health Care Pulmonary Rehabilitation
program has recently received program certification from the American Association
of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation (AACVPR). The certification,
awarded on Aug. 10, recognizes the UI as a program that meets the essential
requirements for standards of care.
The pulmonary rehabilitation program involves multiple, ongoing services
provided by interdisciplinary specialists to persons with pulmonary disease
and their families. The team's goal is to achieve and maintain the individual
patient's maximum level of independence and function in the community.
The UI Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program, established in 1993, is located
on the lower level of the John Pappajohn Pavilion of the UI Hospitals and

The AACVPR is a national, multidisciplinary association dedicated to the
improvement of clinical practice, promotion of scientific inquiry and advancement
of education for the benefit of cardiovascular and pulmonary rehabilitation
professionals and the patients they serve.
