In vitro fertilization reunion to be held at UI Hospitals and Clinics

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- An estimated 200 families are expected to attend the In Vitro Fertilization (IVF) Reunion 2000 Open House from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, Oct. 14 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

The event is an opportunity for couples who received treatment for infertility to renew bonds with the health professionals who cared for them.

"This gathering means just as much to our staff as it means to our patients," said Brad Van Voorhis, M.D., director of the division of reproductive endocrinology and infertility in the UI department of obstetrics and gynecology. "We catch up on how everyone is doing and see how those babies are growing. It is very gratifying to see the joy on everyone's face. It is a very special occasion."

The open house will be held on the seventh floor of the Roy Carver pavilion in the atrium dining room. To locate the event, take elevator E to the seventh floor.
