Dellsperger is named to American College of Cardiology post
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The American College of Cardiology (ACC) last month named
Kevin Dellsperger, M.D., Ph.D., associate dean for veterans affairs in the
University of Iowa College of Medicine and chief of staff at the Veterans
Affairs Medical Center in Iowa City, as ACC College Governor-Elect for Iowa.
Dellsperger will assume the duties for a one-year term beginning in March
2001. He will then assume the role of ACC College Governor for three years
beginning in March 2002.
During his year as ACC Governor-Elect, Dellsperger will observe the current
governor and ACC chapter president in preparation for becoming governor in
2002. As ACC College Governor, Dellsperger will be an official representative
of the ACC within Iowa and will be responsible for the growth of the ACC and
the promotion of its goals and objectives. As governor, Dellsperger also will
serve as the link between ACC members in Iowa and the ACC Board of Trustees.
Dellsperger, a UI associate professor of internal medicine, also is a member
of the ACC European Society of Cardiology International Academic Exchange
Program and is president-elect of the American Heart Association Heartland
University of Iowa Health Care describes the partnership between
the UI College of Medicine and the UI Hospitals and Clinics and the patient
care, medical education and research programs and services they provide.
