University of Iowa Pediatric Nephrology Outreach Clinic to open in Mason City

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A full complement of pediatric nephrology diagnostic services will be available to Mason City area residents beginning Friday, Nov. 10, when the Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic in Mason City will host the University of Iowa Pediatric Nephrology Outreach Consultation Clinic.

Jointly sponsored by UI Health Care and North Iowa Mercy Health Center, the nephrology clinic will be staffed by Craig Porter, M.D., a board-certified physician in pediatric nephrology who carries the designation of clinical specialist in hypertension from the American Society of Hypertension Specialists. He will provide evaluation, treatment and follow-up care in all aspects of pediatric nephrology, including but not limited to hematuria, hypertension, urinary tract infections, malformations of the urinary tract and chronic renal failure.

Porter will be available Friday, Nov. 10 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. with subsequent quarterly clinics scheduled for the third Friday of January, April, July and October. The Pediatric and Adolescent Clinic is located at 910 North Eisenhower Street in Mason City. This outreach clinic is coordinated and made possible by the physicians and staff of UI Clinical Outreach Services, which coordinates specialty services in towns and cities throughout the state.
