UI Health Care researchers invite participation in
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- University of Iowa Health Care
researchers are conducting a clinical trial for a new stroke prevention strategy.
Researchers in the UI Division of Cerebrovascular
Disease in the department of neurology invite individuals who have had a transient
ischemic attack or stroke within the last six months, but who have no history
of coronary artery disease, to participate in a clinical trial of a cholesterol-lowering
medication versus placebo in the prevention of transient ischemic attack and
stroke in patients.
The five-year trial involves four visits the first
year and then biannual visits.
