Guthrie Theatre cancels March 3-4 Hancher performances

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The Guthrie Theatre has canceled the March 3-4 performances of
"A Midsummer Night's Dream" at the University of Iowa Hancher Auditorium and all accompanying educational activities. The cancellation follows the walkout by Local 690 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, which was under contract to work in support of those performances.

Ticketholders will be contacted by the Hancher box office to arrange refunds.

In addition to the public performances, the "What Makes It Great?" event at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 2 in the Iowa City Public Library, educational activities for students in the department of theatre arts, and the Stage Door series performance for school groups at 10 a.m. March 3 have been canceled.

The remaining spring performances at Hancher will be presented as scheduled.
