Four health sciences researchers receive Endocrine Society award
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Four University of Iowa researchers were selected to
receive $500 travel awards from the Endocrine Society.
Awards were given to Arna Gudmundsdottir, internal medicine; Victoria Korovkina,
physiology and biophysics; and Mikiko Kishi and Le Min, pharmacology.
Award recipients were chosen based on their research projects. The scientists
presented at ENDO 2000, the 82nd annual meeting of the Society, held in Toronto
last week. The awards were used to cover travel expenses to the meeting.
The Endocrine Society consists of more than 9,000 scientists and physicians
in more than 80 countries. Founded in 1916, it is the world's oldest and largest
organization devoted to research on hormones.
