UI College of Medicine awards Leuck Oxford Clerkship

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A West Des Moines native attending the University of Iowa has been selected for a medical clerkship at Oxford University, England.

Katherine Leuck, now a senior at the UI College of Medicine, will study at Oxford this fall. After graduation, she plans to pursue a career in emergency medicine.

Leuck previously attended Bucknell University in Lewisburg, Pa., and Oberlin College, Ohio, where she participated in the conservatory of music.

The UI College of Medicine has offered the Oxford medical internship since 1966. It is awarded to a third-year student, and can be in any area of medicine. Award recipients are chosen based on a student essay and interview as well as faculty recommendation.
