John A. Buckingham, D.O., joins Keokuk County Medical Clinic

SIGOURNEY, Iowa — John A. Buckingham, D.O., has joined Keokuk County Medical Clinic in Sigourney. The clinic is an affiliate of University of Iowa Health Care.

"I'm excited to be part of the team providing health care to the citizens of this lovely rural community," Buckingham said. "Also, I'm familiar with the local climate and customs since I grew up in nearby Rockford, Ill.."

Buckingham worked as a family practice physician in California from 1982 to 1996 and as an urgent care physician in California from 1995 to 1999. He has been an Iowa Summer Camp volunteer physician since 1984.

Buckingham received his degree in osteopathy from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo., in 1981. He completed his flexible internship in family practice at the Davenport Medical Center in Davenport.

"I'm very pleased that Dr. Buckingham is joining us in this clinic," said Terry Protextor, who manages the UI Family Care network of clinics. "He is an outstanding physician with a clear commitment to the Sigourney community."
