'Writing in Hues' group offered as outlet for women of color

IOWA CITY, Iowa — "Writing in Hues: Self-Exploration through Journaling" is a new group offered at the University of Iowa Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC). The group will explore the impact of double minority status on identity development and personal definitions of self.

"Writing in Hues will provide an outlet for women of color to express themselves, strengthen their sense of identity and build community with other women of color," says support group facilitator Sharron Walker, a UI graduate student and volunteer coordinator at WRAC.

The six-week program will be Tuesdays from 6 to 7:30 p.m. beginning Feb. 1 at the Women's Center, 130 North Madison St., across from the Iowa Memorial Union. For more information, call (319) 335-1486.
