UI researchers seek men, women for high cholesterol studies
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Men and women with high cholesterol are invited to take
part in one of several studies being conducted at the University of Iowa College
of Medicine. Healthy men and women age 18 and older may be able to participate
in one of the research projects at the UI Lipid Research Clinic. Free cholesterol
tests will be provided as part of the screening process.
The studies will evaluate and compare the effectiveness and safety of different
cholesterol-lowering medicines alone and in combination with other drugs.
The number of visits will vary with the length of each study. Physical exams,
laboratory evaluations, nutrition counseling, and compensation will be provided
to participants in all studies.
