Participants are invited to join UI study of manic-depressive illness
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Individuals age 18 and older with manic-depressive illness
-- also known as bipolar disorder -- who also have a sibling with this condition
are invited to participate in a study conducted at the University of Iowa
College of Medicine.
The study is part of an effort by the National Institutes of Mental Health
to identify the genes that cause bipolar disorder. The study may ultimately
lead to earlier detection and better treatments for this illness.
No travel is required to take part in the study. Compensation is provided.
