Flu shots available at UI Family Care, southeast Iowa City

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- A limited number of influenza immunizations, or flu shots, are available at UI Family Care, Southeast Iowa City, located at 1130 Scott Boulevard.

The clinic has provided the immunizations to its patients, and has a limited amount of extra doses on hand. The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) says flu shots should be received as soon as possible. The flu season in Iowa is expected to peak in mid-January, and it takes about two weeks for a person's immunity to build following the flu shot.

Clinic hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by calling (319) 339-7472.
