UI Health Care physical therapist leading Ivanhoe online chat on diabetes
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Rhonda N. Barr, a University of Iowa physical therapist,
is a co-leader for an online question-and-answer session on diabetes through
Friday, Dec. 15. The online discussion is hosted by Ivanhoe News and can be
accessed at http://www.ivanhoe.com/diabetes.
Barr specializes in helping people with cardiovascular disease, especially
as it relates to diabetes. She is the coordinator of the UI REACH program
-- Reaching Euglycemia and Comprehensive Health -- which offers free community
screening for diabetes and an eight-week prevention program for people at
risk of developing type 2 diabetes.
Barr holds a bachelor's degree in biological sciences from Indiana University
and a certificate in physical therapy from the University of Pennsylvania.
She earned a master's degree in physical therapy from the UI in 1982.
