UI College of Nursing to hold 2nd annual convocation Aug. 30
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa College of Nursing will hold its
second annual convocation from 4 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 30 in the Nursing
Building on the UI campus. The event is intended to bring students, faculty
and staff of the college together to begin the new academic year, and also
will be telecast over the Iowa Communications Network to students enrolled
in the college's RN-BSN and master's degree programs in 12 Iowa communities.
Melanie C. Dreher, Ph.D., professor and dean of the college, will open the
convocation and recognize students, faculty and staff who have made significant
achievements and contributions to the college in the past year. This year's
speaker will be Melodie Chenevert, a writer and publisher of works on career
planning, skill building and motivation in nursing.
A reception with refreshments will follow the formal program.
Communities in which the College of Nursing offers baccalaureate or master's
degree programs are Burlington, Calmar, Council Bluffs, Des Moines, Emmetsburg,
Fort Dodge, Iowa City, Knoxville, Mason City, Orange City, Ottumwa and Spencer.
