Averbach joins UI Family Care, Ottumwa

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Richard Averbach, M.D., joined University of Iowa Family Care in Ottumwa July 17 as a family care physician and is now accepting new patients.

A fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Averbach has practiced family medicine since1977 and in southeastern Iowa since 1982. He graduated from the Medical College of Ohio in 1974; he completed his post-graduate training at the Medical College of Ohio in 1976; and he was clinical assistant professor, family medicine at the University of Nevada School of Medicine from 1982 to 1984. Most recently he has practiced in Fairfield, Ottumwa, and Washington, Iowa.

"Dr. Averbach's addition to UI Family Care, Ottumwa expands our ability to provide quality care to patients from the Ottumwa community," said John Fieselmann, M.D., medical director for the UI Family Care network.
