People with compulsive gambling problems invited to participate in UI
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- People with compulsive gambling problems are invited
to participate in a University of Iowa Health Care study on the condition.
Participants must be 18 or older and experiencing uncontrolled and excessive
gambling. Participants will be expected to make one visit to the UI for an
approximately one-and-a-half hour session involving interviews and questionnaires.
In some cases, a person may be interviewed over the phone. Compensation will
The goal of the study is to find out more about people with compulsive gambling
behavior and the problems that they and their families encounter, said Donald
W. Black, M.D., UI professor of psychiatry and lead investigator of the study.
