Staff Excellence Award nominations are sought

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Staff Council is seeking nominations for the University and Board of Regents Excellence awards. Up to six university and six regents awards will be granted. Winners in each category will receive a distinctive gift and will be recognized at the university convocation in the fall.

Board of Regents Staff Excellence Awards

The Board of Regents Staff Excellence Award is granted to staff members who have performed exceptional service to the university and the State of Iowa. The university will provide a $1,000 prize to the award recipient's department to be used for their benefit. Non-bargaining professional and scientific staff and non-bargaining merit staff are eligible. University of Iowa Staff Excellence Awards

All staff may compete for the University Awards for contributions beyond the recipient's job description. For nomination materials, contact Donna Hirst at University Libraries LIB, by phone at 335-5033, or via e-mail at donna-hirst@uiowa.edu.

Nomination materials for each award will include a nomination form, instructions, and a copy of the evaluation form detailing the selection committees' criteria. If you have questions regarding this announcement, contact a member of the Staff Council University Relations Committee.

Committee members include: Dave Martin, chair, 335-3078; Charlie Eastham 353-5435; Janice Quinn 335-7524; Pat Kenner 335-0505; Anne Tanner 384-0018; and Linda Crowley 356-1671. Each nominator will receive a letter regarding their nominee prior to public announcement of winners in
mid-June. Deadline for receipt of nominations is May 1, 2000.
