Public invited to April 26 seminar on child behavior management
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Area residents are invited to hear University of Iowa
Health Care experts discuss child behavior management approaches at a free
community seminar at 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 26 at the Clarion Conference
Center in Coralville.
Brenda Cruikshank, M.D., Samuel Kuperman, M.D., and David Wacker, Ph.D.,
will present the seminar titled, "Managing Your Child's Behavior Problems."
This program is part of the "Health For Your Lifetime" series presented
by UI Health Care. This broad-based presentation will include discussion of:
-- attention problems in elementary-age children;
-- motor and vocal tics; and
-- self-injury and aggression in children with developmental disabilities.
The presentation will be followed by a question-and-answer session.
Cruikshank is a UI associate professor of clinical pediatrics and is affiliated
with Children's Hospital of Iowa. Kuperman, UI associate professor of psychiatry,
is training co-director in the UI Division of Child Psychiatry and is affiliated
with Children's Hospital of Iowa and UI Behavioral Health. Wacker, UI professor
of pediatric psychology, is co-director of the Biobehavioral Service at University
