MEDIA ADVISORY: Patient throws first pitch at 'Miracle Game'

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Matthew Kemmerer, a patient from the Children's Hospital of Iowa, will throw out the honorary first pitch at the University of Iowa men's baseball double-header against Purdue this Saturday, April 8 at 1 p.m.

Matthew is a junior at Prairie High School, an active member of the Youth Advisory Council of the Children's Hospital of Iowa and a "huge" baseball fan.

The Big 10 home opener for the Hawkeyes has been named the "Miracle Game," with proceeds benefiting the Children's Miracle Network. Game time is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the Hawkeye Baseball Complex, located at the intersection of Hawkins Drive and Elliot Drive.
