Former New Zealand prime minister gives human rights lecture

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Former New Zealand Prime Minister Sir Geoffrey Palmer has returned to the University of Iowa, and during his stay as a visiting professor he will present a human rights lecture at 12:40 p.m. Thursday, April 1 in Room 235 at the Boyd Law Building.

The lecture, "Honoring International Human Rights Treaty Obligations in a Westminster System: The New Zealand Experience," is free and open to the public.

Sir Geoffrey, a former member of the law faculty, recently returned to the UI College of Law where he is teaching a comparative constitutional law course with emphasis on the United States impeachment process. He is at the UI until April 8.
