UI Staff Development sponsors Supervisors and Managers Conference
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Office of Staff Development
is presenting a Supervisors and Managers Conference Thursday, March
25, during which employers can learn how to find and keep exceptional employees.
At the one-day conference new or experienced managers alike will hear
from nationally-known business experts, who will present 16 sessions in
areas such as overcoming challenges, developing employees, acquiring success
skills, and leadership development.
Managing and supervising people is not a skill that comes naturally
to most people, but it's a skill that can be learned. "The conference
is a benefit to managers, who can learn practical ways to boost people-management
skills to increase their organization's effectiveness," said Maureen
McCormick, staff development coordinator.
The Supervisors and Managers Conference runs 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the
Radisson Hotel, 2525 N. Dodge St. in Iowa City. The $149 registration fee
includes participant materials with information from all 16 sessions, lunch,
and break refreshments.
The conference is open to the public and UI staff. Registration deadline
is March 16, and space is limited. To enroll, call UI Staff Development
at (319) 335-2687.
