Sorofman named a fellow by APhA
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Bernard Sorofman, Ph.D., associate professor at the
University of Iowa College of Pharmacy, has been selected as one of six
fellows by the American Pharmaceutical Association (APhA).
A fellow is a member of either the APhA Academy of Pharmacy Practice
and Management (APhA-APPM) or the APhA Academy of Pharmaceutical Research
and Science (APhA-APRS) with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience.
Each fellow has demonstrated progressive, exemplary service and achievements
in his or her professional area, and through service in APhA academies
and other national, state and local professional organizations. Sorofman
is a member of the APhA-APRS.
A UI faculty member since 1984, Sorofman researches public policy issues
on self-care, and popular and professional definitions of illness, disease
Sorofman recently helped lead a national team of pharmacy practitioners
and scholars to construct a uniform pharmacy classification of practice.
He also helped lead a national project to develop pharmacy practice indicators
that benchmark quality care.
Sorofman will be recognized at the AphA's 146th Annual Meeting and Exposition,
March 5-9, in San Antonio, Texas.
