Volunteer training for Women’s Center to begin Sept. 7

IOWA CITY, Iowa —The Women’s Resource and Action Center (WRAC) at the University of Iowa is seeking volunteers. Training begins Tuesday, Sept. 7 for people who wish to serve as support group facilitators, information and referral advocates, Kids Care workers and with Iowa Women Initiating Social Change.

Other opportunities at the Women’s Center include serving on various planning committees such as those that coordinate the monthly WRAC Coffeehouse and the Social Change Training Program, and assisting with special projects.

"People can get involved on many different levels so there is a unique, personalized experience for each volunteer," says volunteer coordinator, Sharron Walker.

For more information or to register for volunteer training, call the WRAC at (319) 335-1486.
