Women in Touch support group to begin Sept.
IOWA CITY, Iowa A weekly discussion group for lesbian
and bisexual women on the impact of sexism and homophobia in their lives is
being offered at the Womens Resource and Action Center (WRAC) at the
University of Iowa beginning Wednesday, Sept. 8 from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
The "Women in Touch" support group includes
sessions on early childhood experiences; body image; friendships, dating and
relationships; intimacy; sexuality; and the lesbian/biwomens community.
Facilitator for the group will be Suzi Steffen who has facilitated "Women
in Touch" groups for the past few years. One of the group's main goals
is empowering bisexual and lesbian women to learn from and support each other,
The six-week group will meet at the Womens Center,
140 N. Madison Street, across from the Iowa Memorial Union. For more information
