UI Museum of Natural History presents Nov. 8 lecture on meteorology
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The University of Iowa Museum of Natural History
will hold a 2 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 8 slide and lecture presentation, "Oh
Spacious Skies: Rainbows, Mirages, Clouds and Sun Dogs," by meteorologist
Douglas Beadle at Macbride Hall Auditorium on the UI campus.
Beadle, whose talk will focus on the causes of various meteorological
and optical sky phenomena, is a 30-year member of the American Meteorological
Society, charter member of the National Weather Association, graduate of
Coe College in physics, and occasional science writer.
The program, a part of the "Afternoon With a Scientist" lecture
series, is free and open to the public. For further information or to
