'Women in Touch' discussion group begins Oct. 22

IOWA CITY, Iowa -- The impact of sexism and homophobia in daily life is the focus of a new discussion group for lesbian and bisexual women offered by the Women's Resource and Action Center (WRAC) at the University of Iowa.

The six-week group, "Women in Touch," will meet Thursdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. beginning Oct. 22 at the Women's Center, 130 North Madison Street.

The group will provide a safe space for lesbian and bisexual women to explore issues integral to their daily lives while building a community among women, says Meg Hammes, group coordinator. Sessions will include early childhood experiences; body image; friendships, dating and relationships; intimacy; sexuality, and the lesbian/biwomen's community.

For more information or to register, call the Women's Center at (319) 335-1486.
