UI United Way givers are eligible for prize drawings
UI's United Way campaign is on its way to reaching this year's $235,000
goal and is offering university employees who have contributed a chance
to win in first and second rounds of prize drawings Oct. 23 and Nov. 20.
Prizes include tickets to the Sunday, Jan. 31 performance of "Beauty
and the Beast" at Hancher Auditorium; Iowa sweatshirts, t-shirts and
mugs; Iowa football tickets; gift certificate from the Iowa Memorial Union
Bookstore; State Room meal; and a certificate for a half-price or free
overnight at the Iowa House.
To be eligible for the first round of drawings, donors need to have
pledge cards in to United Way by Oct. 22. Winners of the first round drawings
will be announced Oct. 23. University of Iowa employees who would like
to be eligible for the second round drawing have until Nov. 19 to get their
pledge forms in to United Way.
Since the start of the campaign on Sept. 25, approximately 25 per cent
of the UI's goal has been reached, with $58,209 raised to date from 177
givers, 50 of which are new givers this year.
Letters, brochures and pledge cards were mailed out to more than 20,000
university employees in September, offering a number of options for giving:
a cash gift, payroll deduction, direct billing from the United Way of Johnson
County, automatic deduction from a checking account, or a credit card payment.
Donors can also designate their gifts to specific community agencies.

Way on campus, call 384-0017 or 338-7823.
