Scotland Parliament member delivers lecture at ILSA national conference
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Roseanna Cunningham, a Scottish Nationalist Party
member and campaigner of social and human rights, will deliver a keynote
lecture at the UI International Law Student Iowa Society national conference
at 8 p.m. Oct. 15 at the Levitt Auditorium in the Boyd Law Building.
Cunningham, a former Scotland émigré, has spent the last
22 years championing the rights of Scottish peoples.
Cunningham's lecture, "Moving Toward a Global Community,"
which is free and open to the public, is a highlight of the four-day International
Law Students Society Association (ILSA) national conference. International
law students and scholars from the United States and several foreign countries
will gather for the Oct. 14-17 conference at the UI College of Law. The
lecture coincides with Global Focus: Human Rights '98, the UI's yearlong
commemoration of the signing of the Declaration of Human Rights.
