UI business program offers seminars April 14 on using office e-mail
IOWA CITY, Iowa -- Helping office workers use office e-mail is the focus
of two seminars Tuesday, April 14 at the University of Iowa College of
"Using E-mail Effectively," presented by the UI Office of
Management and Business Development, will meet in Room W401 of the Pappajohn
Business Administration Building.
The two half-day seminars are open to the public, but require advance
registration. The morning session begins at 9:00 a.m. and runs until nNoon.
The afternoon session begins at 1 :00 p.m. and concludes at 4 :00 p.m.
The course is designed for anyone who wants to learn to write and respond
to messages more concisely and effectively and is based on the idea that
good writing allows e-mail to save time.
The seminars focus on some common e-mail problems, organization and
structure of effective e-mail, and other topics.
Registration fees are $115 per person for a half-day session. For two
or more people from the same company or organization, the fee is $100 per
Diana Russo, Ph.D., who teaches in the communication department at Clarke
College in the Communication Department, will lead the seminars. Russo
has worked for more thanover 20 years as a corporate writer and journalist
as well as an educator and in the past five years has conducted successful,
results-oriented writing workshops at eastern Iowa companies.
